Firefighters rescued a 3-month-old infant who had been inside a sealed vehicle for an extended period in Givat Ze'ev, a settlement north of Jerusalem. MDA teams provided medical treatment for heatstroke symptoms and evacuated the baby to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in stable condition.
Firefighters and medical crews were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to Mavo HaShemesh Street in Givat Ze'ev, where a 3-month-old infant was found inside a locked vehicle after an extended period. Firefighters extracted the baby, and Magen David Adom paramedics treated her for signs of heatstroke before evacuating her to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem in stable condition. The incident follows a similar rescue The Zioneer reported at 16:53 Wednesday, in which the same infant was initially described as being in mild condition. A separate, more severe incident earlier in June — a four-month-old found critical after two hours in a locked car near Rishon LeZion — underscored the risks of children left in vehicles during summer heat. Police and emergency services have not yet announced whether an investigation or any legal steps are being pursued regarding the caregivers.
