TL;DR

Veteran Israeli analyst Zvi Yehezkeli compared the post-World Cup migrant riots in the Netherlands to attacks on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans two years ago, arguing Dutch police failed to learn from that incident and are unprepared for mass celebrations by Moroccan-origin residents.

01 · THE DISPATCH

In a Telegram post Tuesday evening, veteran Israeli journalist and commentator Zvi Yehezkeli analyzed the post-World Cup migrant riots across the Netherlands, linking them directly to earlier anti-Israel violence. Yehezkeli noted that Moroccan-origin residents — who he said lack loyalty to the Netherlands and identify instead with Islam and their country of origin — celebrated their team's defeat of the Dutch by clashing with police.

He argued that the Dutch police, who he said failed to separate Muslim migrants from Maccabi Tel Aviv fans during attacks two years ago, were again unprepared for the violence during mass celebrations. As The Zioneer reported earlier Tuesday, migrant riots erupted across several Dutch cities after Morocco's World Cup victory, with rioters attacking police and running wild. This follows earlier reports of Morocco fans gathering in The Hague to celebrate their national team's defeat of the host country in the round of 16.
