Attorney and economist Nidal Masalha has thrown his hat into the ring for the Arab representation slot in the Democrats party primary. In a statement reported by N12, Masalha said his goal is to add two Knesset seats to the party from Arab voters. Internal polls within the Arab community reportedly give the party — led by former IDF chief of staff Yair Golan — a potential of around 1.5 mandates. The primary is set for later this summer, part of the party's internal race ahead of the next general election. The Zioneer previously reported on the party crossing 75,000 members and on another candidate, PR man Ronen Tzor, entering the race.
