The Tax Authority has reportedly decided to exclude Bnei Brak residents from Compensation Fund payouts for property damaged during the war with Iran, following an attack on its inspectors in the city.
According to a report, the Tax Authority has decided to deny war damage compensation to Bnei Brak residents whose property was damaged during the war with Iran. The Compensation Fund will not assist residents of the city, in what the report describes as an 'Iranian punishment' following the attack on Tax Authority inspectors in Bnei Brak.
Earlier today, the Tax Authority director had set a condition for aid to the city, demanding that the municipality condemn the attack on inspectors before receiving compensation. The new decision appears to go further, freezing all payouts to the city.
The move has drawn criticism from lawmakers, with MK Israel Cohen (United Torah Judaism) earlier slamming the Tax Authority for punishing an entire city for the actions of a few extremists.
