Al-Hadath, an Arabic news channel, reports that the US Department of Justice has indicted eight individuals in connection with the foiled plot to attack President Donald Trump's White House UFC event. The indictment, according to the channel, specifically names Vice President JD Vance and several other senior officials as targets of the assassination plot, which allegedly involved explosive-laden drones and sniper teams.
The Zioneer reported earlier today (Fri 00:49) that the DOJ had filed federal charges including conspiracy to commit murder and terrorism against eight men. The indictment was the culmination of an investigation that began with the FBI's announcement on June 16 that it had thwarted a multi-stage attack.
As The Zioneer has previously reported, the plot was uncovered four days before the July 4 weekend event, with investigators alleging that the suspects used TikTok for recruitment and planned to target Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well. The FBI has stated that up to 19 individuals across four states may have been involved.
The identities of the eight indicted individuals have not been publicly released. The case remains under seal.
