The Department of Homeland Security says a terror plot targeting the White House UFC Freedom 250 event was thwarted after FBI agents arrested Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez in Omaha on the day of the event. Officials allege Alvarez led the planned attack and will face prosecution before deportation. The arrest follows the disclosure last week of a wider multi-stage conspiracy involving drones, snipers, and a ground assault.
The Department of Homeland Security announced Wednesday that a terror plot targeting President Donald Trump's UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House was disrupted after the FBI arrested the alleged ringleader, Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, in Omaha, Nebraska, on Sunday, June 14, the day of the event.
According to officials, Alvarez, a Mexican national who entered the U.S. as a child and whose B-2 visa expired in 2001, later received deportation relief under the DACA program in 2014. ICE has lodged a detainer against him. The administration alleges Alvarez led the planned attack and says he will face prosecution before deportation.
The arrest adds a sixth suspect to the foiled conspiracy after the FBI previously disclosed the capture of five individuals, including 19-year-old Bryan Omar Roa, whose indictment revealed that suspects used TikTok for recruitment and TrackAIPAC data to compile a congressional hit list. As The Zioneer reported, the plot—discovered on June 10—reportedly involved small explosive-laden drones targeting the arena, followed by sniper fire at senior officials including members of Congress.
At least six suspects are now in custody. The FBI has not specified Alvarez's alleged role beyond leading the attack.
