01 · THE DISPATCH

The FBI has released new investigative details on the alleged ringleader of the foiled terror plot targeting the White House UFC Freedom 250 event, held Sunday as part of the US's 250th anniversary celebrations.

According to the FBI, Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez entered the US from Mexico on a tourist visa in 2001 and remained without legal status after it expired. In 2014, during the Obama administration, he was granted DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status, a program shielding certain undocumented immigrants who arrived as minors from deportation. The FBI stated that Alvarez was responsible for planning and organizing the multi-stage conspiracy, which involved small drones carrying explosives and pre-staged sniper teams. The Department of Homeland Security said Alvarez will face prosecution and deportation.

As The Zioneer reported, the FBI previously arrested five suspects in connection with the plot. Investigators have linked the conspiracy to content from the pro-Israel tracking platform TrackAIPAC, with one suspect allegedly compiling a congressional hit list based on who received "pro-Israel money." The latest disclosure identifies Alvarez as the operational leader, and authorities have indicated they continue investigating possible additional participants.
