TL;DR

Commentator Yaakov Bardugo said on Channel 14 Tuesday that former war cabinet observer Gadi Eisenkot and Democratic Union leader Yair Golan form the complementary bloc to Arab MKs Mansour Abbas and Ahmad Tibi. Bardugo also alleged that Eisenkot and former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen are responsible for dismantling the Shin Bet and the IDF, and are willing to accept a nuclear-armed Arab state, warning that this vision leads to a less Jewish Israel.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Yaakov Bardugo, a prominent right-wing commentator on Channel 14, stated Tuesday that former war cabinet observer Gadi Eisenkot and Democratic Union leader Yair Golan form the "complementary bloc" to Arab MKs Mansour Abbas (Ra'am) and Ahmad Tibi (Hadash-Ta'al). Bardugo also criticized Eisenkot and former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen, alleging that both are responsible for dismantling the Shin Bet and the IDF, and are willing to accept a nuclear-armed Arab state. He warned that this worldview leads to a less Jewish Israel.

Bardugo has previously made similar statements. In a July 2 appearance on Channel 14, as reported by The Zioneer, he accused Eisenkot of seeking to defeat the right-wing electorate rather than win for Israel. On July 6, he alleged that Eisenkot "dismantled the IDF" and ignored the strategic tunnel threat, and called former prime minister Naftali Bennett "the biggest swindler in Israeli politics." On June 29, he said the attorney general is more powerful than the IDF chief, Shin Bet, and Mossad.

The broader political context involves the emerging alliance between Eisenkot's National Unity party and Arab-led factions, which could form a coalition government. Yoram Cohen, a member of Eisenkot's party, has stated he would form a government with Arab support, as The Zioneer reported on July 4. Yair Golan has also said he would include Ra'am in a coalition, as reported on June 22.
