01 · THE DISPATCH

Fars news agency now reports that the US strike on a railway bridge in Golestan province struck a critical node in the strategic corridor linking China, Turkmenistan, and Iran. The agency states that the route has carried Russian goods since November and that Chinese train traffic has tripled since the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Zioneer first reported the strike at 02:36 Jerusalem Thursday, when initial Iranian reports indicated a cruise missile attack on a railway bridge. Over the following hours, the target was identified as the Ak-Taka-Khan bridge in Aq Qala county. Reports evolved from unverified claims to a formal confirmation by Fars at 12:41 Jerusalem, which named the bridge and described its role in the China-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor. The latest Fars dispatch adds that the bridge is a key conduit for Russian and Chinese goods.

The strike is part of a broader US campaign to disrupt Iran's land-based logistics networks, which have been used to circumvent the maritime blockade. As The Zioneer reported on June 10, CENTCOM struck an oil tanker attempting to breach the blockade, and on June 28, the US struck Iranian targets in retaliation for a tanker attack. Vice President Vance said the US is applying leverage to ensure safe passage through Hormuz.

The extent of the damage to the bridge and its operational status remain unclear. No independent assessment of the strike's impact on rail traffic is yet available.
