Fire and rescue teams from the Haifa and Krayot stations carried out two operations overnight. They rescued a stranded citizen from a slope near Stella Maris using rope systems, and later extinguished a blaze that had engulfed three vehicles at an industrial garage on Sapir Street. No injuries were reported in either incident.
Fire and rescue crews in the Haifa district conducted two separate overnight operations. In the first, teams from the Haifa and Krayot stations were dispatched to a report of a citizen who had become stranded on a slope near Stella Maris, unable to descend. The incident commander, Captain Shai Ben Simon, said that upon arrival, his teams located the individual, who was fully conscious and communicating. Using rope systems, the rescuers extracted the man to a safe location; he did not require medical treatment.
In a second incident, early in the morning, multiple calls to emergency line 102 reported heavy smoke emerging from an industrial garage on Sapir Street in the Check Post area, visible from a distance. Firefighters arriving at the scene found three vehicles burning in the rear parking area of the garage. A first crew breached the structure while additional units were dispatched, containing the fire and preventing it from spreading further. An investigation has been opened to determine the cause of the blaze.
The two incidents are not connected. As The Zioneer has reported in recent weeks, the Haifa area has seen a number of vehicle and structure fires, but these appear to be routine emergency calls.
