01 · THE DISPATCH

Israel Fire and Rescue Services' Judea District firefighters rescued a child who became trapped inside a concrete bin while playing in Beitar Illit on Monday evening. Firefighting commander Ziv Yona said the crew performed a delicate extraction while calming the child, with the assistance of medical personnel on site. The child and his family thanked the firefighters. Shift commander Rafi Ben Lulu issued a safety warning to parents and children, stressing that concrete bins are a safety hazard and not a play area. A similar incident was reported in the area earlier this month in Modiin Illit, where a child trapped in a concrete cube was also rescued unharmed.
