TL;DR

For the first time, followers of the Gur Hasidic sect will hold a protest march outside Military Prison 10 tomorrow afternoon, following the arrest of a Gur community member, according to Kalaman (N12). The demonstration expands the haredi protest movement to a new, major Hasidic court.

01 · THE DISPATCH

The Gur Hasidic sect, one of the largest in Israel, is set to stage its first protest march tomorrow afternoon outside Military Prison 10, following the arrest of a member of the community. The news was reported by Kalaman (N12) on Tuesday evening. Until now, the haredi protest movement over military conscription arrests has largely involved other communities, including elements from the Lithuanian and Sephardi streams. The involvement of the Gur court marks a significant expansion of the protest base. It remains unclear whether other haredi factions will join or whether the protest will remain limited to the Gur community. As The Zioneer previously reported, haredi protests have spread to multiple cities after earlier arrests at the prison, including a violent confrontation on Highway 6.
