Israel's State Attorney filed an indictment against Tamer Kiwan, 23, of Jadeidi-Makr, for trying to stab a Border Police officer near the Kafr Yasif police station. According to the indictment, Kiwan spotted the uniformed officer, stopped his car, exited holding a knife, and ran at the officer in an attempt to stab him. The officer cocked his weapon and shouted for Kiwan to stop until other officers subdued him.
The State Attorney filed an indictment Sunday morning against Tamer Kiwan, 23, of Jadeidi-Makr, charging him with attempted murder of a Border Police officer. The incident occurred near the Kafr Yasif police station in the Western Galilee. According to the indictment, reported by N12, Kiwan saw the uniformed officer standing near the station, stopped his vehicle, got out while holding a knife, and ran toward the officer attempting to stab him. The officer cocked his weapon and ordered Kiwan to stop; other officers arriving at the scene subdued him. The case is being investigated as a suspected terrorist attack.
