Iran has appointed Ali Azmai as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy, according to reports. The announcement was made Saturday afternoon. As The Zioneer reported earlier today, the appointment follows the killing of the previous commander three months ago. The IRGC navy, which operates in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, has been involved in past confrontations with US and coalition forces. The new appointment has not been independently confirmed by Iranian state media.
