01 · THE DISPATCH

Iran's delegation spokesperson, Esmail Baqaei, released the full composition of the US and Iranian negotiating teams scheduled to meet Friday at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland. The announcement confirms the lineup for what The Zioneer has reported as a series of preliminary talks toward implementing a US-Iran agreement.

The US delegation will be led by Vice President JD Vance, joined by Jared Kushner, envoy Steve Witkoff, Qatari and Pakistani mediators, and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. On the Iranian side, the delegation — operating under the codename 'Minab 168' — is headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a former IRGC commander and senior regime insider who outranks the foreign minister. Ghalibaf is joined by Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Deputy for International Affairs Ali Bagheri, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, Deputy Oil Minister Hamid Bord, and two deputy foreign ministers: Kazem Gharibabadi and Baqaei himself.

In his statement, Baqaei described the trip's purpose as 'following up on the implementation of the commitments of the other party,' adding that 'any agreement and understanding is tested when the time for its implementation has come.' He cautioned that 'considering the experience we have from the other party's breach of promise, we must seriously demand their commitments.' The talks follow months of diplomatic back-and-forth and come amid a 60-day negotiating period announced by Vice President Vance on Thursday.
