01 · THE DISPATCH

Minutes after initial reports of an Iranian missile volley targeting US bases in Jordan, Iranian sources now report a fresh launch from the city of Khomein toward the Muwaffaq al-Salti US air base. The report, which adds a specific origin point, comes as sirens continue to sound in Jordan. The current time is 13:54 Jerusalem, and this is the latest in a rapid sequence of developments.

At 13:49 Jerusalem, The Zioneer first reported that Iran launched ballistic missiles at US forces in Jordan and ships in the Strait of Hormuz, with sirens in Jordan. A simultaneous update said a volley of missiles was fired from across Iran at US bases in Arab and Gulf states, identifying five launches toward Jordan. Within minutes, at 13:50, Army Radio correspondents Moriah Asraf and Doron Kadosh named the Muwaffaq al-Salti base as the target. At 13:52, journalist Nir Dvori (N12) reported five missiles launched at the base. The source quality has evolved from general Israeli media reports to named journalists and now to Iranian sources specifying the launch point.

The Muwaffaq al-Salti base has been a target in previous Iranian attacks. The Zioneer reported on June 10 that footage emerged of activity near the base, and on June 11 that open-source analysts assessed Iranian missiles had hit Jordan, avoiding interceptors. Additionally, on July 8, The Zioneer reported unverified claims of Iranian missiles fired at US warships, part of a broader pattern of Iranian strikes on US assets in the region.

No details on interceptions, damage, or casualties are yet available. The Khomein launch report is based on Iranian sources and has not been independently verified. It remains unclear whether the missiles impacted or were intercepted.
