The Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Committee approved for a first reading a bill to establish a political commission of inquiry into the October 7, 2023 massacre. The six-member commission would be appointed by the Knesset Speaker and the opposition leader, but if the opposition refuses to name its three members — as it has already announced — Prime Minister Netanyahu would effectively control the commission, which can operate with just three members present, according to Channel 12's Daphna Liel.
