After a scuffle in a Knesset committee with combat PTSD victims, MK Yitzhak Goldknopf went up to the gallery where they were watching the first reading vote on their law, hugged them, and promised to advocate for them, according to journalist Eli Hirschman (N12).
The incident follows a confrontation earlier this month between MK Yitzhak Goldknopf and a combat trauma victim, as The Zioneer reported on July 9. Tonight, during a Knesset plenum vote on the first reading of a law for combat PTSD victims, Goldknopf approached the gallery where representatives of the victims were seated, embraced them, and pledged to continue fighting for their cause. The gesture came after a heated exchange earlier in a committee session. Earlier today, all Knesset factions gave a standing ovation to combat PTSD victims ahead of a vote on a separate compensation and rehabilitation bill, which later passed its second and third readings. The current bill is in its first legislative stage.
