Supreme Court President Justice Yitzhak Amit ordered security to remove MK Tali Gottlieb (Likud) from a High Court hearing on the state comptroller appointment after she repeatedly interrupted proceedings. Gottlieb left voluntarily, telling the court, 'I won't let you treat me like dogs.' Amit remarked afterward, 'what is called — and the people see the voices.'
During a High Court of Justice hearing on petitions against the appointment of attorney Michael Ravilo as State Comptroller, Supreme Court President Justice Yitzhak Amit ordered security to remove MK Tali Gottlieb (Likud) after she interrupted proceedings. According to Channel 12 reporter Inbar Tvizer, Justice Amit stated, 'We have already tolerated several interruptions; I ask that she be removed.' Gotliv responded, 'I'll leave on my own — I won't let you treat me like dogs,' and exited the courtroom. After her removal, Amit remarked, 'What is called — and the people see the voices,' a biblical reference often used to describe public perceptions of justice.
The incident is the latest in a series of confrontations between MK Gottlieb and the judiciary. As The Zioneer has reported, earlier this week Gottlieb clashed with Justice Sohlberg during the same Ravilo hearing, and has previously confronted Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and State Attorney Amit Isman in a five-hour Knesset hearing. The current hearing was convened after petitions challenged Ravilo's appointment; the court has not yet issued a ruling.
