TL;DR

Galya Choshen, mother of Hadar who was killed at the Nova festival, accused the 'October Council' of aligning with Kaplan protest elements and directing anger at the government rather than at Hamas, criticizing their nationwide rallies to mark 1,000 days since the October 7 massacre.

01 · THE DISPATCH

Galya Choshen, mother of Hadar who was murdered at the Nova festival on October 7, sharply criticized the 'October Council' — a group of victims' families and activists — for organizing nationwide rallies Monday to mark 1,000 days since the massacre. In a statement reported by Channel 14's Dana Varon at 11:48 Jerusalem time, Choshen said the Council has "long since allied with several elements in Kaplan" — the protest movement against the government — and that its goal is to amplify anti-government and anti-right messaging. Choshen said that even when Kaplan protests focused on the hostages, they directed their cry 'Free the hostages' at the government rather than at Hamas. The October Council has drawn growing attention as a civil memorial organizer, but has also faced criticism from within bereaved families. As previously reported by The Zioneer, the Council led a nationwide 'Day of a Thousand' of civil memorial events today, with moment of silence and a central rally at Hostages Square.
