TL;DR

The Standards Commissioner found the wall charger fails Israeli safety standards — internal power wires are unsecured, creating risk of electrocution and short-circuit fire, according to a report by N12.

01 · THE DISPATCH

A comprehensive inspection commissioned by Israel's Standards Commissioner found that the model K88 wall charger, imported under the Hi-Tech brand by Harel (K.Sh.) Import and Marketing Ltd., contains critical safety defects. According to the findings published by N12 on Thursday, internal power wires are not secured as required, posing a risk of immediate electrocution. Additionally, the power cables are not properly fixed, which could expose live wires and cause a short circuit and fire.

On June 17, The Zioneer reported that Harel had issued a voluntary recall for the same model, urging the public to stop using it due to fire and electrocution hazards. The current testing confirms those concerns with official regulatory backing. The Standards Commissioner is reviewing the company's compliance with mandatory recall obligations, while the product remains on the market in unknown quantities.
