New details have emerged in the investigation of a prestigious Tel Aviv high school teacher suspected of raping a 12-year-old student. According to an Israeli media report, the teacher allegedly manipulated the student. The parents discovered the relationship less than a week ago and immediately filed a complaint with police.
The investigation uncovered sexually explicit text messages between the teacher and the student. Initially, the teacher denied meeting the student, but after being presented with the messages, he changed his testimony and admitted to some of the incidents. He acknowledged sexual contact, including touching and massages, but denied full intercourse and rejected the rape allegations.
Police also suspect that on at least two occasions, the teacher picked up the student in his car and drove to Tel Aviv beaches, allegedly for sexual encounters. Authorities are investigating whether there are additional victims.
The teacher was arrested on Thursday, and a court extended his remand by five days, as The Zioneer reported earlier.
