Israel Fire and Rescue Services announced plans for a new fire station in Kibbutz Magen, Eshkol Regional Council, as part of the national rehabilitation of the Gaza envelope communities. The project is led by the Fire and Rescue Services, in cooperation with the Tekuma administration, and is expected to be completed within about a year.
The Israel Fire and Rescue Services announced Monday morning the establishment of a new fire station in Kibbutz Magen, within the Eshkol Regional Council. The initiative is part of the national rehabilitation and strengthening of communities in the Gaza envelope area (Otef Aza) following the October 7, 2023 attacks and the subsequent war.
The project is being advanced by the Fire and Rescue Services under Fire Commissioner Rafi (Ayal) Caspi and Deputy Commissioner Ranen Michtavi, in full cooperation with the state-run Tekuma administration (responsible for rebuilding the border communities). The station is designed to improve emergency response times for fires, rescue operations, and other incidents across the Eshkol region and the wider Gaza border area.
Southern District Commander Itsik Oz stated that upon completion, the station will significantly improve response times for residents, providing an advanced and near-home safety envelope. Construction is expected to take about one year from the start of work. The announcement was accompanied by a rendering of the planned station, though no cost estimate was provided in the brief.
