The seizure adds to a series of major drug busts reported internationally in recent months. As The Zioneer reported in late June, a US interagency task force seized 305 metric tons of cocaine and arrested 518 individuals. In a separate Israeli police operation in June, 14 kg of cocaine worth NIS 10 million were seized, and 75 kg of cocaine bearing a portrait of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was discovered by Romanian customs in early July.
