Police have asked organizers of a planned Haredi vehicle convoy to bypass Kfar Yona and not approach the military prison inside the city, to avoid confrontations with residents after the mayor threatened a human chain, organizers say. The protest organizers are reviewing the demand.
Police have demanded that a planned Haredi vehicle convoy targeting the area of the military detention facility — Prison 10 — not enter Kfar Yona or the prison itself, to prevent clashes with residents, organizers said Monday evening.
The request follows a threat by Kfar Yona Mayor Daniel Grobeis to form a "human chain" to block the convoy. As The Zioneer reported earlier Monday, the local authority prepared that counter-protest, and the mayor said residents would physically prevent the convoy's entry.
The convoy's organizers told the media they are reviewing the police demand. The mayor's office has not yet commented on the police move.
