Northern District police located a military fragmentation grenade at a home in the Lower Galilee village of Tur'an and arrested a 29-year-old local resident on suspicion of illegal weapons possession, according to Israeli media.
Israeli police recovered a military fragmentation grenade in the Lower Galilee village of Tur'an on Wednesday morning and arrested a 29-year-old local suspect, according to N12.
The arrest follows a string of weapon seizures in Arab Israeli communities in the Galilee in recent weeks. As The Zioneer reported, police have recently seized firearms, grenades, and ammunition in the villages of Shaab, Nahaf, Jadeidi-Makr, and Abu Snan, among others, as part of an ongoing campaign against illegal weapons in the Arab sector.
Police noted that earlier this week, an explosive device and weapon parts were also found in the same village of Tur'an. The suspect was taken in for questioning.
