Officers from the Israeli Police's Ayarot station, alongside the Special Patrol Unit (SAHAR) and Yoav Unit, rescued a four-year-old girl found locked alone inside a kindergarten during an Operation Iron Net anti-crime sweep in Tel Sheva on Friday evening. Police forced entry and freed the unharmed child, then seized suspected drugs and an M-16 magazine from the compound.
On Friday evening at 20:00, police operating in the Bedouin town of Tel Shea as part of Operation Iron Net — a nationwide campaign targeting crime and illegal weapons, ordered by the Commissioner — heard crying from a locked kindergarten. Officers broke in and rescued a four-year-old girl who had been locked inside alone. She was returned to her parents unharmed.
A subsequent search of the compound yielded suspected narcotics and an M-16 rifle magazine. All evidence was transferred to the Ayarot station for further handling and investigation.
The rescue echoes other recent operational interventions by Israeli security forces involving children in distress, though it is unrelated to the earlier rescue incidents in Modiin Illit and Beitar Illit.
Operation Iron Net, previously reported by The Zioneer, aims to dismantle organized crime networks and confiscate illegal weapons; Friday's operation included units from the Special Patrol Unit and the Yoav tactical unit.
