The remarks come hours after Mamdani reportedly attempted to carry out an arrest of Netanyahu, then admitted he could not — as The Zioneer reported earlier Thursday. Mamdani has been calling for Netanyahu's arrest since before the mayoral election, citing the International Criminal Court's warrant against the prime minister.
Omar's support adds a prominent Democratic voice to the campaign. Israeli officials, including UN Ambassador Danny Danon, have dismissed the effort as legally baseless and politically motivated.
