At approximately 23:27 Jerusalem time Wednesday, unverified reports indicated a US strike in the Sirik area. About 40 minutes later, at around 00:07 Jerusalem time Thursday, additional reports identified a follow-up strike specifically targeting the Ziarat-e Sirik naval outpost in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran. Both strikes remain unverified.
The Sirik area has been a recurring target of reported US strikes over the past weeks. On June 28, a US strike hit an IRGC naval base near the village of Tahrui, south of Sirik, as The Zioneer reported. On July 15, Iranian media reported missile launches from Sirik toward US destroyers in the Strait of Hormuz. On July 18, multiple US strikes were reported near Sirik at 12:30, 16:30, and 16:40 local time, and a broader campaign overnight hit Larestan, Ahvaz, and Sirik among other locations. The Ziarat-e Sirik outpost itself had not previously been reported as hit.
