The shekel surged in Tuesday afternoon trading, reversing the prior session's weakness. On Monday the dollar had fixed at 3.059 shekels, up 0.07%. Tuesday's move returns the dollar below the 3.03 level, a recent trading range. The euro also declined, falling to 3.490 shekels. The representative rates are set daily by the Bank of Israel based on interbank trading.
