Firefighters rescued three people trapped in a third-floor apartment fire on Abner Street in Haifa on Friday morning. The blaze was traced to smoking materials left in a bedroom. The three were treated for minor injuries.
Firefighting teams from Haifa station were dispatched at around 08:00 following reports of black smoke billowing from a third-floor apartment on Abner Street. Upon arrival, crews located and extinguished the seat of the fire while additional teams swept the building for trapped occupants. Three people were found—one on the fire floor and two on the floor above—and were evacuated to medical care with mild injuries. A special investigation team determined the fire started due to smoking materials left in a bedroom. Heavy damage was confined to the room where the fire originated.
