Israeli authorities charged two terror suspects from Samaria with plotting to lure National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to an attack scene and assassinate him using an explosive drone. One suspect allegedly attempted to obtain drone components from China. The cell also stockpiled weapons and planned attacks against civilians and the kidnapping of IDF soldiers, authorities said.
The Zioneer reports that Israeli authorities have filed charges against two terror suspects from Samaria over an alleged plot to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. According to the indictment, the suspects planned to lure Ben-Gvir to the scene of a staged attack and kill him with an explosive drone. One suspect allegedly attempted to procure drone parts from China to assemble the device.
The cell is also accused of stockpiling weapons, training operatives, and plotting attacks against civilians and the kidnapping of IDF soldiers.
As The Zioneer reported earlier Wednesday, the Shin Bet and Israel Police filed indictments against a wider Nablus-based terror cell that had plotted to assassinate Ben-Gvir and abduct soldiers. Wednesday evening's charges appear to focus on two specific suspects within that cell. The identities of the two suspects have not been disclosed.
