The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) center reported on Sunday that an oil products tanker was attacked approximately 50 nautical miles southeast of Ash Shihr, Yemen. A motor skiff carrying five armed individuals attempted to board the vessel. The tanker took evasive maneuvers, continued to its destination, and the crew is safe, UKMTO stated.

The incident adds to a series of maritime security events in the region over recent weeks.
