Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) claimed on Monday that a new departmental unit operating from Magura unmanned surface vessels used FPV drones to attack Russian radar systems in occupied Crimea. The GUR said the strike destroyed a control station for the Podlyot radar complex and a Parol-4 radar, which is used for identification friend-or-foe (IFF) systems.
The claim could not be independently verified. The GUR did not provide imagery or specific coordinates.
As The Zioneer reported on July 27, the GUR previously claimed a strike on a Russian S-400 air defense system in Crimea. On August 1, the agency reported drone attacks on a Sarkan-class boat, a Pantsir-S1 system, and a Forpost UAV ground station in Crimea and the Kherson region. The latest report suggests the GUR is expanding its use of naval platforms to deliver FPV drones deep into Russian-held territory.
