In an interview with Avraham Freund of Mishpacha, MK Yaakov Asher (United Torah Judaism) said he does not know the individuals establishing new political parties, and stressed that his party serves the entire public, from full-time kollel students to working professionals who set aside time for Torah study, adding that they are all under one roof.
MK Yaakov Asher (United Torah Judaism) told Mishpacha in an interview published Friday that he does not know the individuals behind new political parties being formed, and reiterated his party's commitment to serving the entire Haredi public regardless of lifestyle. "I don't even know these people who are establishing parties. The public is very large, and we are taking care of the entire public — both those who sit in the 'Hazon Ish' kolel and those who work for a living and set times for Torah, we are all under the same house," he said.
As The Zioneer has previously reported, Asher has spoken about inter-sector unity and the party's dedication to the Torah world. At a July 5 conference he called for unity and warned against stoking divisions between Haredi and Religious Zionist communities. In a July 15 radio interview, he stated that UTJ is not engaged in talks about forming a coalition bloc, emphasizing that its commitment is to the Torah world.
