Associates of outgoing MK Ron Katz (Yesh Atid) claimed that Naftali Bennett pressured him to delay his resignation until the elections, arguing it would be bad for the campaign to have a Muslim MK (Muhammad 'Shoko' Abu al-Hija) enter the list. Yesh Atid denied the claim, calling it 'a lie'.
01 · THE DISPATCH
The Zioneer reported earlier this morning that MK Ron Katz resigned from the Knesset and that Muhammad 'Shoko' Abu al-Hija is set to become Yesh Atid's first Arab MK. In a subsequent report by Amit Segal (N12), Katz's associates claimed that Bennett pressured him to delay his resignation until the elections, arguing that it would harm the campaign to have a Muslim MK enter the list. Yesh Atid immediately denied the claim, calling it 'a lie'.
