Hillel Mordechai Dadon (2019–2026) was a seven-year-old resident of Beit Shemesh whose life was cut short in a violent stabbing incident on Monday, August 17, 2026. The tragedy occurred in a residential building on Emek HaZeitim Street, where Hillel and his younger brother were attacked inside their home. According to reports from the scene, the children's father returned to the residence to find both sons suffering from severe stab wounds. MDA paramedics arrived at approximately 17:14 Jerusalem time and found Hillel in critical condition. Despite intensive resuscitation efforts at the scene and during transport to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, medical teams were forced to pronounce him dead. His younger brother, aged 4, was also seriously wounded in the attack but remained conscious during evacuation. Israel Police arrested a neighbor in connection with the stabbing; initial investigations suggest the suspect may suffer from mental instability. The murder of a young child in the sanctity of his own home sparked national mourning. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara issued a formal statement expressing deep grief and offering condolences to Hillel's parents, Tamar and Amos Dadon, while praying for the recovery of the surviving brother. The incident underscored ongoing concerns regarding local security and the management of potentially dangerous individuals within residential communities.
