The operation was carried out in full view of dozens of commuters on the busy Highway 1 artery.

Footage from the scene shows security forces surrounding the vehicle and taking Sasson into custody. The suspect had reportedly altered his appearance, including shaving his head and beard, in an attempt to evade identification after police took the unusual step of publishing his photograph last week.
