01 · THE DISPATCH

A 3-year-old boy was found unresponsive after drowning in a private pool at his home in the Sdot Negev Regional Council on Saturday afternoon. MDA medics who arrived at the scene provided advanced medical care and evacuated him to Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva in serious condition.

Pool drownings involving young children have been reported with seasonal frequency across Israel this summer. As The Zioneer has documented, multiple drowning incidents — including a 13-year-old in Emek Hefer, a toddler in Beit She'an, a 13-year-old in Modi'in, and an 18-month-old in Beit She'an — have occurred since mid-June. All victims were evacuated in serious or critical condition.

The circumstances of Saturday's drowning in Sdot Negev remain under investigation.
