German prosecutors announced Wednesday that an additional Ukrainian citizen suspected of involvement in the September 2022 Nord Stream pipeline explosions has been arrested in Pula, Croatia, and is expected to be extradited to Germany.
This is the second arrest in the Nord Stream investigation today. Earlier Wednesday, The Zioneer reported that German officials had confirmed the arrest of a Ukrainian man in Croatia over the pipeline sabotage. The latest announcement adds an additional suspect, also a Ukrainian citizen, arrested in Pula. The suspect is expected to be extradited to Germany. In July, German prosecutors indicted a Ukrainian national, Serhiy K., over the same sabotage, alleging the operation aimed to permanently halt Russian gas supplies. The identity of the latest suspect has not been disclosed.
