Yair Goldblatt, an Israeli security and Middle East analyst, assessed that the blasts are suspected to be Iranian activity. The cause of the explosions and any casualties or damage are not yet known. The report follows a series of earlier blasts in Erbil and across Iran over recent days, and comes amid ongoing US-Iran tensions. As The Zioneer has reported, explosions were previously reported in Erbil on June 10 near a US base, and a wave of blasts across southern Iran was reported on June 10–11.
