Unverified reports indicate that airfields in Iran's Bushehr province are under missile attack. The source of the attack and any casualties are not yet known.
At 03:33 Jerusalem, an unverified report specified that the target of the ongoing missile attack is airfields in Iran's Bushehr province. This latest detail emerges from a fast-moving sequence of reports that began at 02:22 Jerusalem, when the first explosion was reported in Asalouyeh, followed by multiple reports of explosions in Bushehr, Asalouyeh, Ahvaz, and Abadan, and later confirmation from Iranian state media and reports of missile launches from the Persian Gulf.
The thread of reports evolved rapidly: at 02:22 Jerusalem, The Zioneer first reported an explosion sound in Asalouyeh from local sources. Within the same minute, additional reports from Channel 12 cited fresh explosions in Bushehr and Asalouyeh. A third report expanded the scope to Ahvaz and Abadan, and a fourth cited Iranian state media Press TV confirming explosions in Bushehr and Asluyeh. The fifth report, also at 02:22, cited security analyst Chananel Aviv on missile launches from the Gulf. Source credibility thus moved from unverified local accounts to Israeli media and Iranian state-affiliated broadcasting.
The Bushehr area has been a repeated target in recent weeks. As The Zioneer reported on July 8, the Bushehr deputy governor confirmed that two military bases were struck by rocket barrages. On July 9, a senior American official confirmed US strikes on IRGC bases and drone positions in Bushehr, and Iranian officials accused Israel and the US of striking a military base near Bushehr. Earlier, on June 11, air defense activity was reported in Bushehr, and a governorate official confirmed a target struck in Dashti County. These reports form part of the wider US-led Operation Epic Fury campaign.
The current report of airfields being targeted remains unverified. No official confirmation has been issued by Iranian or other sources. The origin of the missiles, the extent of damage, and any casualties are not yet known.
