U.S. Central Command says it completed a 90-minute round of precision strikes at 7:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday, hitting coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage and launch sites on Greater Tunb Island in the Persian Gulf. The operation follows a 7-hour strike wave CENTCOM concluded overnight, as The Zioneer reported earlier Wednesday.
The U.S. Central Command said Wednesday it completed a 90-minute round of precision strikes against Iranian coastal defense systems and cruise missile storage and launch sites on Greater Tunb Island at 7:30 a.m. ET (14:30 Jerusalem). The operation is the latest in a series of U.S. strikes against Iranian military infrastructure in the Persian Gulf region.
The strike follows a 7-hour wave CENTCOM concluded overnight, which targeted missile and drone sites and naval capabilities near the Strait of Hormuz, as The Zioneer reported earlier Wednesday. That wave ended at 10:00 p.m. ET on July 14 (5:00 a.m. Jerusalem), according to CENTCOM.
CENTCOM's statement did not provide a damage assessment or mention any Iranian response. The U.S. has been conducting strikes since early July against Iranian assets that pose a threat to commercial shipping and U.S. forces, with over 50,000 troops deployed to the region, as previously reported by The Zioneer.
