A group of about 3,000 young adults, children of foreign workers born and raised in Israel, has petitioned the High Court of Justice for the right to enlist in the IDF. Their attorney Zari Hazan says the state has already deferred its response three times and is now due to reply by June 22. Several of the petitioners cite a sense of belonging and a desire to defend the country, noting that one friend, St.-Sgt. Cedric Green, managed to enlist and was killed in Gaza in 2024.
