A judge dismissed the prosecution's renewed request to distance Yonatan Urich from the Prime Minister's Office and ban him from contacting Prime Minister Netanyahu, Israeli media report. The bid follows earlier similar requests that were also rejected in recent weeks.
For the third time in recent weeks, a court has rejected a prosecution request to restrict the movements and communications of Yonatan Urich, an aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The prosecution sought to bar Urich from the Prime Minister's Office and prohibit any contact with Netanyahu, but the judge dismissed the motion.
As The Zioneer reported on June 11, earlier requests to impose restrictions on Urich, including one to prevent him from communicating with Netanyahu and another to distance him from the PMO, were also turned down. Urich's lawyer, David Peter, has previously called the prosecution's actions an effort to isolate Netanyahu from close associates with "no legal basis."
The court's latest ruling means Urich continues his work with no change in his conditions. The precise reasoning of the latest decision has not yet been published.
