According to Honenu, the legal aid organization that assisted Baruch, the incident occurred last year when a video circulated showing Baruch rescuing a young deer from a water well. Drori shared the video with a false caption claiming that 'Jewish settlers are poisoning water wells of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank' and that 'an organized wave of attacks that erupted last night in the territories is leading the morning news in Europe.'
Honenu attorney Tom Nisani, who represented Baruch, stated: 'Whoever does not learn the easy way not to slander and defame the heroic shepherds of Judea and Samaria, will learn the hard way, and will also pay.' The court ordered Drori to pay compensation in the amount of thousands of shekels.
