Pakistani authorities report that after more than 12 hours of searching, wreckage from the cargo plane was located about 53 nautical miles south of Urmarah, off the Arabian Sea coast. Rescue teams are continuing to search for the missing crew.
Pakistani authorities announced on Wednesday evening that debris from K2 Airways flight 1732 had been located approximately 53 nautical miles south of Urmarah, off the Arabian Sea coast, after more than 12 hours of search efforts. The wreckage was found by rescue teams, and the search for the five crew members continues.
The Zioneer first reported the disappearance on Tuesday at 22:42 Jerusalem, initially citing unverified reports of a Boeing 737-400 cargo plane that reported a navigation system malfunction and sharply descended before vanishing. In a series of reports published at that same time, further details emerged: the aircraft was identified as K2 Airways flight KTA1732 with five crew members; Pakistani aviation authorities confirmed the navigation failure, and Flightradar24 data showed a rapid altitude loss of 35,000 feet in under two minutes, suggesting a crash into the sea southwest of Karachi. Subsequent reports confirmed the flight's origin from Sharjah, UAE, and its destination Karachi.
As The Zioneer reported in its initial coverage, the aircraft was a Boeing 737-400 operated by K2 Airways, carrying cargo and five crew members. The plane had reported a navigation system problem at 21:18 local time before losing altitude. The search area initially focused on the Arabian Sea west of Karachi, but the wreckage was later found further south off Urmarah.
The whereabouts of the five crew members are still unknown, and rescue operations are ongoing. The cause of the crash has not been determined, and authorities have not yet indicated whether the flight data recorder has been recovered.
