A 24-year-old deserter from Netivot was rearrested after allegedly escaping a police van with the help of a crowd in Jerusalem. Police say the initial stop was over suspected harassment of customers at a supermarket; he was taken into custody, then dozens of people reportedly surrounded the vehicle, freed him, and helped him flee. He was located and arrested four days later at a yeshiva in Beitar.
