Israel's flag carrier El Al has launched EL AL Travel, a new platform on its website and app allowing passengers to book hotels abroad, the company announced Sunday. The platform includes some 1.5 million hotels and lets frequent flyers and FLY CARD holders redeem and earn points on hotel bookings.
El Al launched EL AL Travel, a new hotel booking platform integrated into its website and mobile app, the airline announced Sunday. The move is part of the carrier's strategic expansion to offer a full vacation experience from flights to accommodation, with planned future additions of attractions and activities at destinations worldwide.
The platform lists approximately 1.5 million hotels globally. Eligible members of El Al's frequent flyer club and holders of the FLY CARD issued by Isracard can redeem existing points or earn new points and 'diamonds' on hotel bookings. To mark the launch, loyalty members who hold the FLY CARD and book a hotel through EL AL Travel by end of August 2026 (for stays through end of June 2027) will receive 10,000 bonus points.
CEO Levi Halevi described the platform as a significant step in the company's growth plan, allowing customers to book all vacation components in one place. The Zioneer has previously reported on El Al's contractual disputes with credit-card firm Cal and its in-flight internet deal with SpaceX's Starlink, though these are unrelated to the new travel platform.
