He warned that a new nuclear agreement between Washington and Tehran is not a likely scenario, and that Israel cannot base its security on a future arrangement. "We need to ensure one thing: that Israel has freedom of action to act if the Iranians try to renew the nuclear project," Eilam said.
Jerusalem, he argued, must preserve the ability to operate "whenever we want, however we want, and in the configuration best suited to us," in accordance with Israel's security interests.
